Degrees Weather App Reviews

This used to be the best free weather app: simple, unobtrusive, just sat nicely in the Mac toolbar. Then a few days ago, it started saying the temperature in NYC was 124 degrees Fahrenheit. And now, it is blank. What’s up guys? Any chance of fixing it? Gave it a one-star because it’s broken, happy to give it 4 stars if it ever works again.

Just installed (OS 10.10.5) — doesn’t display temperature. Discover location doesn’t work, so I entered zip code — didn’t work. Then entered City, State — still doesn’t work. Uninstalling — ciao.

A couple weeks ago degrees was telling me it was 129°F out. Um, it wasn’t. Now the temperature seems to be right, but the app started crashing and disappearing from the menu bar. Used to be it would crash after a few hours. Now it crashes within seconds. I notice it’s been over a year since the last update. Looks like deadware. Anyway, I’m getting rid of it.

App doesnt work anymore. Been wating for a fix but no nothing. Gets 1 star now (wish i could give 0) then I will change back to 5 with the app is fixed

Compared to other simple weather apps, Degrees was never very good, but at least it did the one thing it was supposed to. Well, sometime around MacOS 10.10.3 or 10.10.4, it pretty much stopped working on my MacBook Pro mid-2015. It would quit, crash, or display completely inaccurate and implausible information (131 degrees in Nebraska? Really?) The developer does not respond to inquiries. This app is dead, gone, and should be banned from the store.

Used to be simple and worked flawlessly. It won’t update the temperature any longer… PLEASE FIX AND REMOVE SPAM!

No longer works as advertised. Cannot update location manually, nor does the setting to automatically update location work. Useless. I’m so disappointed. I used to love this app. Also, attempts to contact the developer via the advertised “provided helpful, friendly support” have been unsuccessful.

I like Degrees, but as/of OS X 10.11.4 is no longer works.

The app no longer works. 2 reports to the developer and nothing back from them. I type in my zip and nothing. Hit refresh and nothing. Type in my city, state and nothing. Hit refresh and nothing. This used to be my favorite weather app too. I used it for years.

Never worked. I didnt get 1 single report of weather. I tried both entering zip and choosing “discover automatically”. All I ever saw was “- - F”. Never a weather temperature.

This app used to be fantastic! Just a little applet that showed me the temp and a quick over view of the day’s forcast. After using it for months, I paid for the application to support the dev. Then about three weeks ago, when the latest update for El Capitan was released the application stopped working. I first noticed it would just be gone from my task bar, I would reopen it, it might provide weather info, it might not, then a little while later the applet was gone again. A while after that it started to tell me that it was over 150 degrees every day, trust me, it’s not. I tried removing it, reinstalling the free and paid version, no change. No it just sits there and says “- - F”, thats all. No matter what I try. I have submitted bug reports with no response. And as you can see below, most users now have this issue. I believe it has something to do with the last update to El Capitan, but the developer has gone slient. Perhaps enough 1 star reviews will get their attention. This app used to be 5 stars… not any more, do not install, do not buy. FYI - If the Developer fixes this application, I will update my review but this is accurate as of 4/12/2016.

Overall, works as advertised, but the FREE version is full of bugs. Often crashes out of nowhere. Does not save my proper ZIP code no matter how many times I change it.

It does not work any more. As other reviewers below, the app does not detect my location automatically, and I am not able to put my location manually either. I reported two times to the developer, but they never replied.

I’m unable to add my location (tried ZIP or name of the city) it is just never adding my location thus no degrees just —

Now it doesn’t work at all. Stopped working a few months ago. I unistalled and reinstalled it. I restored my “pro” version. It won’t show the weather anymore. Bummer since it used to be an awesome app. :(

If the Pro version works as poorly as the free version, it’s not worth the money. Cons: - Doesn’t include wind - Pro version is required for forecast - Constantly forgets where it is - Disappears (crashes) from menu bar - Persistenly shows incorrect WX icon (always shows thunderstorm no matter what the actual conditions) I’ve sent a support request 2 weeks ago, heard nothing. Three times I deleted the app, it’s prefs, and reloaded. I gave up. I have Farensius on an older Mac, it’s supposed to be unsupported and stop working just any time now, but it’s reliable, accurate and keeps working. So, I’m done with Degrees.

The app used to be perfect but after the lastest Mac update it seems to have lost it’s accuracy. It’s off by a lot. Please fix.

Discover the location automatically doesn’t work, neither does when entering the location manually… all I get is "- -˚F"
