Degrees Weather App Reviews

Wrong temperature

It’s near freezing here in Boston, but degrees is currently telling me it’s a balmy 133 degrees with 95 percent humidity.

159 degrees F

Wow 159 degrees but at least it’s a dry heat……maybe were getting closer to the sun! Time to retire this app…my real concern is tomorrow, not sure what to wear, it’s going to be 185 degrees…….

Never loaded the temp for my city

I tried 3 different zip codes in my area and none of them actually loaded up. I’m glad this was free, as it didn’t work at all.

Constantly crashes, temps off by 80+ degrees

The latest version closes itself every time my system (10.11.2) goes to sleep. Temperatures in F are off by 60-80 degrees. Changing to C shows the correct F temperature sometimes, but not all the time. Pretty useless.

Crashes and Non-Existent Support

This app crashes and disappears from my screen at least twice a day. I contacted support a week ago for advice—there has been literally zero response. I really like the idea of this app. I even paid for the pro version. But if I have to restart it all the time, I might as well be checking a website.

App abandoned?

The app seems to have been abandoned by it’s developer… I bought it, it was a wonderful product. I really wish the developer would come back and fix the issues it has now. What a waste.

Never loaded any information!

I was really excited about this app. But after having it open for a while it NEVER loaded my weather info, temp, humidity nothing!! I even unchecked the box for automatic location and typed in the city I live in and nothing!

Absolutely Broken in El Capitan 10.11.4

I’ve loved Degrees for years. Lately I started noticing that it wasn’t running. I’d reopen it, and then later it was gone again. I kept thinking I was absentmindedly closing it or that it wasn’t launching on startup as it should. But that wasn’t in fact the problem. The problem is that it no longer works. It will run about 15 minutes before an uncaught exception will be raised and it will terminate. I’d love to use this app again but the company behind it does not seem to have a support page. If you are planning on downloading it and have 10.11.4 you’d probably be better off finding something else.

It no longer works

I’ve had this app on my MacBook pro for over a year and it worked great until the last OS X update. Now it doesn’t work at all. I can’t even get it to open.

Update: no longer working

Update 4/1: Appears to be working again? Update 3/25: No longer working after 10.11.4 update. Says it’s 108ºF outside, when it’s near freezing. --- Great app but the recent update added an ‘ad’ in the options menu for the developer’s other app ‘Degrees Mobile’. There are also prompts to rate the app in the App Store. Not very professional in my opinion.

Does not work

This app does not work on my new IMac. It simply won’t give a temperature, just dashes where temp should be.

Ceased to Function

For a while now, I depended on this little app to give me a heads up on the temp when I was going outside. With literally no other changes to my setup, a few weeks ago I noticed it was no longer displaying in the menu bar. I wrote a note to support (including the console log report), but they have not acknowledged nor responded to my request for information. If I manually launch the app one of three things happen, it works and shows the temp, but within half an hour disappears. It shows but with no temp then disappears. Or it simply won’t show anything at all (w/o any of the standard application crashed type notifications). Hate to say it, but it sure looks like it has been abandoned by the developer… AND I see the same thing is happening to the paid version.

no longer works in OS X 10.11.4 (15E65)

Id give 4 stars but mine no longer works in OS X 10.11.4 (15E65) so I give 1 star only. I hope the fix will come soon and then I can upgrade my rating.

Crashes constantly

I used to love Degrees. Simple icon in the menu bar that I could glance at to see the current temp. Now I look at the menu bar, and its almost never there as it has crashed. Sad, but I’ve finally removed it from my Macbook as I’m tired of closing the crash window for it. If they fix it, I’ll revisit it, but I don’t think it works well since Yosemite or El Cap upgrades.

This app is broken. Developer is unresponsive. Bummed.

This used to be a great little app. One day, though, it stopped working correctly; the reported temperature in my area was 140 °F! I contacted the developer about my problem but got no response. I completely uninstalled then re-installed the app. Now it won’t show any weather at all and won’t let me restore my previous purchase (I supported the dev before there was a Degrees Pro version, so I’m supposed to have full access to the 5-day forecast.). Maybe this will get fixed, but probably not since it’s been a year since the last update. I guess the dev forgot about his early supporters and now only cares about the Degrees Pro users.

Very unreliable

From wildly inaccurate temperature readings, being off as much as 60 degrees, to continuously incorrect weather predictors, such as always showing me that Im about to have a lightning storm, I just cant trust the information. I have checked and re-checked my location in the app, and seems to be the only reliable feature, but Im already aware of my location, thank you very much.

Use to Work...

But now quits after 30mins or quits on startup

No longer works. Developer won’t respond.

I loved this app until it stopped working. Suddenly it no longer displays in my menu bar. I reported the bug to the app developer but received NO response. The app continues to fail, and the developer continues to ignore me. If I could, I’d rate it ZERO stars.

Crashes all the time and wont load

This app crashes on launch most of the time. When it doesn’t it just shows “-“ for the weather. I’d gladly pay for the upgrade if this actually worked, unfortuantely it does not.

Idk What Happened

IDK what happened but this app stopped working. It doesn’t open automatically no matter how the dialogue box is clicked. It was working great… when it worked.
